Sometimes it just helps to talk, or type, with someone. Here are some of the autistic and learning-disabled support groups I’ve found on the web.
Know of a support group? Local? Online? Let me know! I’ll add it here.
Massachusetts Parents of Autism. Facebook parent support group in Massachusetts.
Autism Moms Support. Facebook mom support group.
The Social eScene. Online workshops and social opportunities for Autistic and learning-disabled teens. Based in Lyndhurst, NJ, but open to everyone across the country.
Partners for Youth With Disabilities. PYD provides training, resources, and programs for children and adults with disabilities.
Parent to Parent. P2P supports parents of individuals with disabilities across the United States. This includes a support parent program. The program provides outreach to parents who need resources, emotional support, or even just someone to talk to.
The Arc. The Arc has individual chapters in all 50 United States. Each chapter offers community involvement and support. Arc provides medical and psychological resources to kids and adults with learning and intellectual disabilities. These services extend to their parents, caregivers, and guardians.
